Jubilee is looking for people who love to dance. We have performed at over a dozen international folk dance festivals, many San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festivals and at schools and community events around the Bay Area. We perform a wide range of traditional American folk dance - from Appalachian clogging, to Swing, square dancing, polka, waltz, Cajun dance, and many others. Prior experience in other dance forms is helpful, but not required. Come to one of these sessions where we'll teach some of our dances in a casual environment - wear comfortable clothing and any type of dance shoes or sneakers. Improper English is a new English country dance series committed to gender-neutral (positional) calling. The initial run will be 2nd Thursdays, just down the street from BACDS’ usual Berkeley hall, during the 3 months when the dance there shifts to Tuesdays. Suggested donation is $25, or pay what you can. Note that masking (Surgical/KN-95 or better) is required.

In March 2025, our dance is on a SATURDAY at the Hillside Club. No experience necessary. Kids welcome. Doors open at 7:45. Please pay in cash or venmo.
This is a traditional or old-time square dance (not a modern or club square dance). That said, square dancers of all stripes are welcome!
